Did you miss me? We haven't been up to much around here so I haven't had anything fun to write about but I figure it's about time I say hello.
The weekend after Mark's parents left, we didn't do too much. We ran errands on Saturday and Sunday and piddled around the house. We did end up finding some new vines for the backyard and another tree. We had been looking for several pool-friendly vines, one being a Pink Trumpet Vine. Turns out it is also called a Bower Vine and that is what is on all the tags at Lowe's which made it kind of hard to find them. At least we finally figured it out and now have a few of those planted out back. We also bought a Texas Mountain Laurel to give us some shade in the back (once it gets bigger of course).

This past weekend we decided to take the boat out on Lake Pleasant since it was so nice. Unfortunately the water is still a little chilly - I think their website said it was around 60...brrrr. Needless to say, we didn't go swimming! We just cruised around then threw the anchor and floated around for a while.

Mark was brave enough to float on the tube...kind of risky with the water being so cold

Ahhh
We did make a new friend last weekend, Maggie May, the neighbor's 1 1/2 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Terri, our neighbor, broke her foot so we offered to take Maggie on walks when we take Bentley. She's a cutie but a magnet for prickleys and twigs.

Bentley is obsessed with Prairie Dogs and wants to do nothing but head to the desert and terrorize their holes. She even decided to walk herself there twice last weekend when we had our backs turned. The first time, she made it all the way there and was digging a hole by the time Mark found her; the second time I caught her running down the sidewalk to the desert and she pouted all the way back. She gets so stinking dirty digging in the dirt. She gets it caked on her face around her nose and eyes and her coat gets to be a muted brown. We had to rinse her off in the shower the other day and probably need to do it again.

We haven't done much this weekend either. We went out Friday night with a girl I work with and Saturday morning I baked some Carrot Cake Cupcakes for Easter. Saturday afternoon we went to Home Depot and bought a new cooktop and microwave! The cooktop was a little wide for the hole in the counter so we dremeled it a little wider. It's in and works great; in fact I'm using it right now to make our Easter lunch. We bought them both on clearance and the microwave doesn't have a mounting bracket so it isn't installed yet but hopefully it will soon.

While I was dremeling away, Mark decided he was going to give the pool a try, even though our shark thermometer says it's only 72 degrees. It didn't last long, only long enough for him to get from the deep end to the stairs. But it did cool him off.
